TEFL Org UK is delighted to announce ActionAid as our Charity of the Year for 2018.
ActionAid was chosen by our team for its incredible work in supporting women and girls, to gain access to life opportunities through education, fair working conditions and equal rights in some of the world’s developing nations.
All customers will have the opportunity to donate £1, £5 or £10 to ActionAid when purchasing a course online with us – and at the end of the year we will match the amount raised by our customers.
Throughout the year we’ll also be hosting and taking part in fundraising events for ActionAid to help them further their vital work, so look out for further details on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Last year, we at TEFL Org UK managed to raise over £4000 for our Charity of the Year Mary’s Meals, and we aim to raise even more this year.
As well as our fundraising, we’ll be helping to promote ActionAid’s fantastic Mozambique First Hand experience, where volunteer fundraisers can spend 9-12 days helping to build a library for a local secondary school and experiencing the local lifestyle and culture.
TEFL Org UK Managing Director Jennifer Mackenzie said:
“We’re proud to be supporting ActionAid this year, as we think that they do a lot of exceptional work in eradicating gender inequality and poverty that shouldn’t exist in 2018.
As a business we aim to open doors to education for our students, and we know that ActionAid share that goal in providing routes into education for those who would otherwise be left without.
We’re looking forward to working with them this year and hopefully raising a lot of money that will go towards some very deserving projects across the world.”
ActionAid’s UK Chief Executive Girish Menon, said:
“We are delighted to have been selected as TEFL Org UK’s charity partner and look forward to working with them on their exciting fundraising plans throughout 2018. With the kind support of TEFL Org UK’s customers and employees, we are able to support some of the most vulnerable women and girls across the world to change their lives, for good. Thank you!”
