We’re delighted to announce that our new Teaching Young Learners advanced course is now available!
The course has been written by our Online Courses Manager Thomas Kerr and classroom/online tutor Alex Herrington, who between them have 45 years of young learner teaching experience.
Mr Kerr said:
“Teaching young learners is a very different experience, and what this course does is provide all the information you’ll need to know to step into a classroom. We’ve written the course with our experience in mind, and we’ve strengthened it with years’ worth of student feedback on our old courses. We think this is the best preparation out there for students going into young learners teaching, and we’re excited to help them towards their teaching dreams.”
This marks the final stage of our re-development process, with all of our courses now hosted on our new mobile-friendly, interactive course platform. The course features a range of videos, interactive lessons and quizzes that are designed to keep you interested and be as educational as possible. The course features real Young Learner classroom examples, and demonstrations from a Young Learners teacher to show you exactly what works in lessons.
Product Development Manager Kurt Bergmann said:
“We’ve taken every aspect of the online TEFL course to the next level: The learning experience is a lot more interactive, tailored for students using mobile devices, yet fully functional on desktop computers. State-of-the-art technology and up-to-date-content make the courses ultimately more educational. Our aim was to create a course that meets the demands of modern online learning, with our new Teaching Young Learners course we’re proud to have succeeded.”
Our students have once again been fantastic in providing feedback on the course through our Beta test, and we’ve been able to make some changes to make the course even more engaging and user-friendly.
Here’s what some of them said:
It was really good and easy to follow
The information we got given to learn from was the perfect size, and broken up effectively. The quizzes were very good as not big blocks of questions and a good way to check your understanding/progress.
The first unit is very helpful as it explains step by step on how to improve or start teaching young learners.
Informative and clear layout. I’ve been teaching young learners for quite a while now, but still learned some things I didn’t know and got some new ideas to use in the classroom.
If you’re interested in teaching Young Learners, then our new advanced course is the best way to learn more and prepare yourself for the classroom.
